Andrea Gargano, MA, LCPC, RYT, Counselor in Chicago
I strive to help my clients heal, rebuild their lives, and increase resiliency. In therapy, I aim to help my clients to not only pay attention to what is showing up cognitively and emotionally but also within their body. Utilizing the intelligence of the body can often times help to free thoughts and emotions that leave people feeling stuck.
My therapeutic approach is integrative, drawing from models such as EMDR, CBT, Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT), psychodynamic theory, attachment theory, and yoga (I am a trained yoga teacher). You can reach your goals through various methods such as increasing self-awareness, cognitive changes, behavioral changes, understanding and managing emotions, psychoeducation, mindfulness, and body awareness.
My areas of interest include trauma, anxiety, depression, grief/loss, codependency, spirituality, life transitions, attachment issues, and relationship issues.
