Sometimes we get so overwhelmed by messages of who we are supposed to be we lose track of who we are. This affects every aspect of our lives. It influences how we relate to our friends, family, coworkers, romantic partners and the people we pass at the grocery store but most strongly how we relate to ourselves. Finding greater understanding of who we are is how we create change. My role is to assist you on this journey, guide you in finding those answers and show you how to create healthy change with this knowledge.
I utilize Choice Theory, this assists a person in recognizing the power they have in recreating their world. I also use CBT, ACT and Polyvagal skills. I am certified in Community Reinforcement and Family Training to assist people in setting healthy boundaries with loved ones with a drug/alcohol addiction.
Being in a space of unhappiness and not feeling connected is painful. We are often given the unkind message of "suck it up", but you don't have to. Working to create healthy change for yourself takes courage and strength and finding someone to support and guide you on that journey is a healthy choice!
