Julie Myers, LCPC, CDWF, Counselor in Boise
I view counseling as a supportive and collaborative partnership where I assist you with working through difficult challenges. Together we will work to develop the emotional safety and support you need to make the changes you want. I know it can be hard to make changes and even hard to ask for help sometimes. I offer a compassionate, welcoming and affirming perspective backed up with tools and skills for problem resolution. With a respectful, caring and challenging environment you are able to achieve your goals.
I specialize in working with LGBTQ individuals and couples, gifted adults and parenting gifted children, trauma resolution, elders and dual-diagnosis. I also see many clients wanting to address and resolve life transitions (expected and unexpected), depression, anxiety, grief and loss, stress, and relationship concerns (work, social, family, and romantic).
I am comfortable working with clients for short term problem resolution and longer standing concerns relating to family of origin, trauma, or addiction related issues. I feel honored by the trust clients place in my work. Call me to see if working together will be a good fit for you.

Rising Strong(tm)

RISING STRONG(tm) - group based on the research of Brené Brown. The physics of vulnerability is simple: If we are brave enough, often enough, we will fall. Rising Strong is a book about what it takes to get back up and how owning our stories of struggle gives us the power to write a daring new ending. Struggle can be our greatest call to courage and the clearest path to a wholehearted life. Here's how Brené describes the progression of her work: The Gifts of Imperfection - Be you. Daring Greatly - Be all in. Rising Strong - Fall. Get up. Try again.

Daring Way(tm)

The Daring Way(tm) is a highly experiential methodology based on the research of Dr. Brené Brown. The method was designed for work with individuals, couples, families, work teams, and organizational leaders. During the process we explore topics such as vulnerability, courage, shame, and worthiness. We examine the thoughts, emotions, and behaviors that are holding us back and we identify the new choices and practices that will move us toward more authentic and wholehearted living. The primary focus is on developing shame resilience skills and developing daily practices that transform the way we live, love, parent, and lead.
