Linda Smith, PhD, Psychologist in Great Neck
A Long Island native, I earned my postdoctoral degree at Yale University School of Medicine, and my PhD at the Derner Institute of Adelphi. My therapeutic style is warm, collaborative, and scientifically informed. I have the privilege of working with children, adolescents, and adults, and offer hours that suit busy lifestyles. I integrate evidenced-based and psychodynamic approaches-- I help my clients gain insight into the root cause of their symptoms while also providing interventions for immediate relief. I am particularly experienced in treating anxiety, depression, PTSD, ADHD, divorce, relationship issues, disruptive behaviors, bereavement, and parent guidance.
During my time at Yale, I focused on the evaluation and treatment of children and adolescents. In addition, I have a strong foundation in the treatment of adults with relationship issues and problems with stress management. I also provide psychological assessments to identify ADHD, autism, and learning disabilities.
I strive to create a therapeutic environment that is both comforting and challenging. I feel privileged to be part of your journey towards feeling happier and healthier, and I encourage you to schedule a free consultation with me so that you can make an informed decision when choosing your therapist.
