Marina Klimova, MA, LMFT, Marriage & Family Therapist in Westport
I work with individuals, families and couples. I work from an emotional perspective, which means I help people sort out and understand where their feelings come from. When people are able to make sense of their emotions, they can let go of old wounds and find new feelings that lead to a more positive and compassionate connection with themselves and others. It is my belief that in order for the client to feel better, a therapist has to both understand the client conceptually and be emotionally attuned. I strive to create a strong empathic connection with my clients.
I treat individuals experiencing a variety of personal and interpersonal problems within the context of their relationships. I also work with couples in distress, whether they are recovering from an affair, feel lonely in a relationship, have communication difficulties or feel unappreciated.
I work extensively across cultures and ethnicities. My experience as an adoptive mother to a traumatized child adopted abroad gives me a unique appreciation for adoption challenges. I pride myself on my creativity, intuition and curiosity. I can accommodate challenging schedules, including weekends and early/late hours.
