Alexis Silas, PsyD, Psychologist in Chicago
I specialize in helping people recover from anxiety. I most frequently work with women who suffer from anxiety, trauma, and complex relationship problems of all kinds. Too often, anxieties and fears get the best of us and control our decisions. Rather than living the life we want, we end up making choices in life and in relationships that are rooted in self-doubt, anxiety, and worry. I provide a safe, empathetic, nonjudgmental space in which we work together to develop new, authentic ways of engaging in relationships. My offices are in downtown Chicago and across the street from Northwestern University.
I also have expertise working with adult children of alcoholics, partners and family of transgender individuals, and emotional issues related to chronic medical conditions such as cancer, diabetes, and other illnesses. These issues can feel isolating but do not have to be faced alone.
It's essential to find a therapist who is a good fit. I am most helpful with people from age 14 to late adulthood who want to develop more meaningful relationships, get un-stuck from old patterns, and learn to value and accept themselves.
