Thomas Bekeny, PhD, Psychologist in San Francisco
I've been a licensed psychologist seeing clients for psychotherapy in my private practice since 1995. My approach is to facilitate your growth or movement through various life issues by working with your strengths and helping you to arrive at the solutions/decisions/changes that will improve the quality of your life. Research has shown that making a strong therapeutic relationship is linked to positive therapy outcomes, and one of my strengths as a therapist is to make such relationships with a diverse spectrum of clients.
Many people come to me when they get stuck in their lives in ways that seem as if no movement is possible. I've learned that I can help people open up more choices for themselves...choices that, for psychological reasons, seemed not only unavailable, but (even more importantly), unthinkable prior to psychotherapy.
Though I work with a widely diverse group of clients, my background as a performing musician gives me a unique window and special sensitivity to clients involved in creative arts.
