Jennifer Heckendorn, LMSW, Clinical Social Work/Therapist in Ann Arbor
Accepting new patients! Day and evening availability. My practice is focused on the needs of aging individuals and the family members/friends who provide care and support for them. Life transitions, grief and loss associated with changes in physical and mental health are issues that I specialize in as well as depression and anxiety in adults of all ages. I am a solution focused therapist who uses cognitive behavioral techniques to help alleviate negative thought patterns and behaviors that exacerbate depression and anxiety.
Through my education as a geriatric social worker along with my experience in long term care, hospice and outreach therapy, I have the training and skills necessary to provide extra support and guidance through a challenging situation. I look forward to working with you to achieve your goals.
My approach is to provide support, meet clients where they are, and to address personal life challenges. I have assisted many families with issues related to placement, medicare/medicaid, advanced directives and end of life care. I work with each individual to help build on strengths and attain personal growth.
