Tina Saunders, LMHC, CAP, LMHC, CAP, Counselor in Pompano Beach
I have worked both in inpatient and outpatient settings for over 16 years and love helping people. I have raised 5 children as a single parent---who are now grown---so I know what it's like to have to overcome major struggles in life. As a professional counselor, my goal is to assist you to become empowered and gain full insight about yourself your relationship with others. I provide a safe and trusting environment, maintaining a climate of warmth and respect. I recognize the need for confidentiality and am non-judgmental in my approach.
I specialize in various trauma work (PTSD, childhood abuse, rape, combat, etc.), all types of addictions, and conflict in relationships. I run various groups (i.e. Trauma, Relationship Enhancement, and Parenting Skills Groups). Since I have experienced all these struggles myself, I am able to implant wisdom and knowledge to you in these areas.
I am also a Christian counselor that combines theology and spirituality with theories of modern behavioral science to those that desire it. I understand the importance of my clients' spiritual beliefs. I counsel pastors and their wives, periodically, who are human and go through struggles also.

Tina Saunders, LMHC, CAP's Groups

What is a traumatic event to one person, may not be to another. There is a misconception what categorizes 'trauma'. Survivors of traumatic circumstances face a number of struggles to adjust and cope with daily life. Participants in this group share their experiences, gaining mutual support and validation from others. They grieve for the trauma and its consequences and begin restoring trust and hope for the future. Sessions involve education and discussions of traumatic events. Participants are able to finally release their secrecy and/or shame in a safe and confidential environment. Self-soothing techniques are presented.
