Struggling with infidelity, incessant arguing, communication problems and lack of intimacy? I have been a therapist and couples’ counselor for 30 years, and use the Gottman Couples Therapy which is a “nuts-and-bolts”, research-proven approach for improving relationships. Based on John Gottman's 40 yeas of research on why relationships succeed or fail, these techniques will give you tools to deepen friendship and intimacy, manage conflicts and "resolvable problems," and dialogue about "gridlocked" ones. There are three counseling phases: Assessment, Treatment and Phasing Out. The Assessment phase lasts three sessions when you are seen as a couple and individually. There is an extensive online evaluation which will give us an “x-ray” of your relationship. In the third session, I will give you my recommendations and help you define goals for your counseling.

In the Treatment phase, which usually lasts 3 to 10 one-hour sessions, you will learn how to change destructive and aggressive habits of communication, increase your emotional and physical intimacy, and learn how to argue fruitfully. Many couples "graduate" after ten sessions, and can always return for a "tuneup."

I specialize in communication, affairs and behavior addiction and how it affects a relationship. The first assessment session is 90 minutes and takes a look at your history and current issues. Then you get an online evaluation by the Gottman Institute which analyzes your relationship. This is followed by an individual session, and a summary of the assessment. Couples treatments last an hour.
