Lisa Myers, MDiv, Registered Psychotherapist in Courtice
I have a passion to work with students, adults, couples, and adolescents who are seeking change from challenges in their life. From anxiety and depression, to coping with life changes, grief, trauma, suicide, crisis, or low self-esteem, I believe that every person can experience improvement in their situation. I apply that hope to how I approach each person's story; I believe that there is hope in what may seem like a hopeless situation. I also believe that some of my work, such as premarital counselling, can be preventative so that we can take steps to build resilience.
Some of us need a safe place to process what life hands us, others want to work on specific changes in their life, and some want to prepare for upcoming transitions (e.g. marriage, new child, moving away from home, etc). I support people in each of these goal areas.
I have compassion for those feeling stuck because of anxiety, low self-esteem, depression, or unclear future direction. Working with students prepared me to journey with people who desire balance and peace amid life transitions. I also work with individuals while recognizing that our families shape and impact our lives.
