Kind and professional care with extensive experience of 45 years in psychiatry, psychopharmacology research (involved in over clinical 900 research trials), family therapy, and psychoanalytic treatment (have a Ph.D. in Psychoanalysis.) My approach is flexible, looking to find what can be understood psychologically, as well as what is best explained in terms of brain function or chemistry. I do not always use medication as true understanding is often enough. When I do use medication my approach is conservative. "I start low and go slow." Try visiting my Website for more details: http://www.dondefrancisco.com/
I am uniquely versed in the combination of therapies and the difficulties of one-sided approaches. Some people may admirably want a purely psychotherapeutic approach and many will succeed, but I have the experience to understand why this may prove very difficult for some people. I am especially aware of the limitations of purely pharmacological approaches.
I can often sort out what experiences need to be addressed psychologically and what experiences could benefit from brain chemical normalization. I often can identify which experiences can be approached either way. I enjoy doing psychotherapy treatment myself, but if you desire to continue or start work with a non-medical therapist, I can help this, too.
