Cheri Neadle, MS, LMFT, Marriage & Family Therapist in Westport
Do you struggle to manage your overwhelming emotions? Perhaps your anxiety levels become so high that everything feels out of your control. I am here to help you find your way to peace. My background in marital and family therapy coupled with intensive training in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) helps my clients to strengthen their skill sets to feel more in control of their emotions while increasing positive interpersonal relationships. My areas of expertise are in working with clients with eating disorders, family discord, difficulties with regulating emotions, self-injury, suicidal ideation, interpersonal problems, and impulsivity.
My experience as a clinician and program director of residential and intensive outpatient eating disorder treatment has provided me with the skill set to treat clients with Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia Nervosa, Binge Eating Disorder, and exercise addiction.
Each of the team members within our group practice has been intensively trained in DBT through the Linehan Institute and we provide fully adherent DBT treatment as it was designed by Marsha Linehan.

Cheri Neadle's Groups

Adolescent Multi-Family DBT

DBT is a mindfullness-based treatment program that focuses on teaching a specific set of skills to help clients relinquish long-held patterns of avoidance, and build, or rebuild, a "life worth living". Our adolescent group meets on a weekly basis on Thursday evenings from 6:30-8:00pm. In our efforts to remain fully adherent to the DBT model as it was designed by Dr. Marsha Linehan, it is also a requirement that all adolescents are seen in individual DBT therapy sessions on a weekly basis within our practice.

DBT for Binge Eating and Bulimia

We are excited to start our second round of this group on Tuesday, October 24th. Appropriate referrals are adults who meet criteria for Binge Eating Disorder, Bulimia Nervosa, or partial Bulimia Nervosa. The specific, 20-session group protocol is supported by randomized controlled trials, and shown to be effective for reducing or eliminating binge and binge/purge behaviors.
