The Chicago Home Tutor, SSP in Chicago
At the Chicago Home Tutor we use the most current research in education and psychology to provide your child with expert instruction in the convenience of your home- in the city and suburbs. As a team of school psychologists and specialized teachers working together, we are prepared to help remove barriers that prevent learning in students with autism, learning disabilities, dyslexia, ADHD, executive functioning difficulties, and emotional challenges. We begin with a thorough assessment. We then design targeted lessons, constantly monitoring progress to maximize effectiveness and, when needed, alter our approach based on your student's response to our lessons.
We craft creative, research-supported solutions for every student's needs. Examples include: ADHD - executive functioning coaching, self- monitoring checklists, the MotivAider, Calm Classroom. Autism - PECS, visual schedules, independent work systems, visually-supported materials, social stories. Learning disabilities - Orton-Gillingham, direct instruction, targeted intervention. Comprehensive list available on our website.
At your request, we will communicate with occupational therapists, teachers (to coordinate special education eligibility/planning), doctors (to help with medication trials), speech-language therapists, and social workers to promote generalization of your child's goals across settings. We are ready to give your child the best psychoeducational support available!
