Kara Schachter, PsyD, Psychologist in Santa Monica
The motivation to seek counseling can come at many different times and stages in one's life - Whether it be to explore a deeper understanding of oneself, discovering ways to resolve relationship conflicts, or striving for stability or even change. In my clinical practice I work to understand what may be currently interfering with someone experiencing a more satisfying life - with a goal of helping clients become curious about their own experiences, reactions and insights.
My approach involves paying attention to themes that may be continuously hindering personal progress, with attention paid to the influence of one's past and present experiences. I believe that change and growth take place best in a space in which the working relationship between my clients and myself is one of trust and openness.
It's a personal experience to open up in therapy and the clients right to choose whom they feel ready to work with as a therapist. I would feel fortunate to begin this exploration with you if you feel ready to set up an initial meeting.
