We all learn, whether intentionally or not, ways to handle the hardships that are a part of our life. These choices and mechanisms can be helpful and fruitful for our lives, or they can have hurtful and destructive outcomes. Some may seek healing, while others may choose to numb or ignore uncomfortable circumstances. No matter where you may fall in this spectrum, my desire as a therapist is to assist you with learning healthy and positive coping skills, so that you can take these skills into your everyday life and bring about the change you would like to see in yourself.
I truly empathize with my clients and try to walk along side them, putting my feet in their shoes. What better way to help a person, than to walk a mile in their shoes, see where they've been and figure out where they want to go.
My experience has been with children, youth, adolescents and adults working individually, with couples and with groups. I also have experience working with men and women from all types of different demographics. My specialties and areas that I work in are substance abuse, special needs population, depression, anxiety, behavior modification, and parenting.
