Change is a major source of stress and life is full of change. I believe one of the most helpful applications of therapy is to help clients deal with the changes they experience and incorporate them into their lives-children growing up and leaving home (the client might be the parent or the child), relationship changes, job-related change, dealing with death, or any other changes that challenge you. I offer a safe place to express your feelings about the changes in your life and strive to be a non-judgmental companion through that process.
I respect and work to understand all sexual orientations and identities and non-traditional relationship structures. I also work to assist clients to develop sex-positive attitudes and learn how to express them in a manner that is comfortable for the client.
I've been lay staff in two different Champaign-Urbana area churches for 15 years. I understand the concerns faced by religious workers. If you are a church worker (clergy or layperson) looking for a counselor, I have a perspective that will help me be of service to you.
