Michelle Bloom, LCSW, Clinical Social Work/Therapist in New York
I believe in a holistic and mindful approach, understanding both the unique relationship between mind and body, as well as relationships with others. I work with individuals and couples who want to make changes in their lives yet struggle due to fears, lack of support and/or confidence, or mistrust. Typical areas of my work include life transitions within familial and/or romantic/marital relationships, professional career changes, and loss of loved ones. I help clients overcome emotional blockages and gain a sense of confidence in themselves and their ability to make changes in their lives.
I have extensive training in Attachment based Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, Emotion-Focused Couples Therapy (EFT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Motivational Interviewing. My specialties include Couples Therapy, Emotional Dysregulation, Attachment-based Trauma, and Sexuality/Intimacy struggles. Additionally, as a Birth Doula I work with pregnant moms and new parents during pregnancy and postpartum.
My priority is to create a practice that is flexible and meets the individual needs of the people I work with. I work with clients individually, in couples, or in groups, and offer flexible scheduling, pricing, and modes of communication including phone coaching, email and text communication.
