An educator for over 20 years, I have worked with adults and children from widely varying backgrounds. As a psychotherapist serving individuals, couples, and families, I focus on identifying inherent strengths and innate potential. I utilize cognitive behavioral, narrative, and solution focused approaches along with mindfulness to create a collaborative, proactive therapeutic relationship. Pain, trauma, life struggles and relational difficulties are not defined by labels of mental illness. Discovering the true-self and addressing our unique patterns of thought and behavior are foundational to authentic change.
I have experience assisting people with addiction, depression, anxiety, trauma, grief, self-esteem, relationship issues. Bipolar disorder and schizophrenia are also within my scope of practice. In my work with couples, I align with the couple to work together to help the real client -- the relationship!
Psychotherapy is my second profession -- classical trumpet player being my first. I benefit from a wide base of experience, and a sense of the musicality of life -- the need to identify themes, balance darker chords with melody, and tune into the creative endeavor of living the best life we can.
