April S Parker, MSW, LCSW, Clinical Social Work/Therapist in Chapel Hill
I am a licensed clinical social worker who is experienced in working with adults, families and children with mental health and behavioral issues. A graduate of the UNC School of Social Work, I have worked in both outpatient and inpatient behavioral health settings. In addition to having a private practice, I facilitate a monthly New Mothers Support Group at Restoring Balance. I specialize in working with women who are experiencing postpartum depression and postpartum anxiety. I am a North Carolina native, currently residing in Durham County with my husband of 12 years and 7 year old son.
My speciality is individual therapy sessions with women who are struggling with postpartum depression and/or anxiety. I complete a comprehensive clinical assessment and utilize screening tools to develop individual treatment plans and therapy goals. Throughout my work with you I will monitor your symptoms and make recommendations accordingly.
I offer individual therapy sessions on Saturdays and Sundays and sometimes weekday evenings. I believe early intervention with mothers who are experiencing postpartum depression and/or anxiety is critical in the development of secure attachment between parent and child resulting in healthier families.
