James McCracken, MSW, LCSW, Clinical Social Work/Therapist in Durham
Helping couples resolve distress and (re)build safety, trust, and positive feelings is my passion and the primary mission of my practice. With my training and experience, I provide a balanced, validating, and effective couple therapy experience, using research-validated approaches, such as EFT, tailored to the situations and needs of my clients. In couple therapy, the right kind of help can make an immense and positive difference to seemingly stuck situations.
I have completed specialty certification trainings and supervision in Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy, a research validated form of relationship therapy. I also pull from other approaches (Gottman Method, IBCT) that allow me to help couples navigate rough spots and relational traumas (such as affairs and addictions), and revive dormant bonds.
I guide clients to clarity and resolution. I don't give up hope that relationships can improve when both partners are interested, and I help couples find closure to terminating relationships. Whether serving couples or individual partners, I provide a warm, engaged, and validating therapy that builds understanding and security
