Patricia Borgess, MS, Pre-Licensed Professional in Jacksonville
Everyone is "normal." Given the conditions of the home environment we grew up in and the culture we are immersed in, problems always make sense with the appropriate lens. I can help you put the puzzle pieces of your life together to understand what is happening in the present moment. With the full picture in view, we can then work towards an ideal version of yourself. With my gentle guidance, it will be truly amazing to look back and see how far you've come. It's going to be okay.
I specialize in integrative techniques including mindfulness, guided meditations, and breath awareness to enhance the mind-body connection and gain access to your own intuitive wisdom. When the heartbeat and brainwaves are coherent, energy and emotions are able to move freely. The result is feeling more gratitude, appreciation, joy, and peace.
Working with a therapist can get the rapid results you want as opposed to the long term road of solving problems on your own. I accept a sliding scale and I work with individuals, couples and families. I am an Army vet, I speak Spanish and possess a deep understanding of race, class, and privilege.

Menīs Process Group

Menīs Issues are often overlooked in our society where men are seen to be the dominant group possessing the power. In this process-oriented therapy group, we will explore the issues that men face in having to fit into the popular ideal of masculinity. Source materials will be assigned, including the documentaries The Mask You Live In and The Red Pill. The group will exist as a safe space to explore the unspoken pressures and difficulties that men face and to get feedback and support from other men. A sample of topics includes Masculine and Feminine roles, Shame and Vulnerability, and cultural dynamics.
