Based on my clients' history, goals and interests, we decide which approaches to use: EMDR (for PTSD, anxiety, depression, dream/sleep disturbance), REBT (for ineffective thinking patterns that contribute to emotional pain and behaviors), Chair Work (to address decision making, communication, inner conflicts and critical thoughts).
My background lends itself well to engaging clients in experiential processes to heal or transform a problem. So sometimes its less talking about an issue and more focused on a process of becoming aware, discovering a solution, or experiencing a shift in their body to a more relaxed state.
