Raymond P Batista, LCSW, Clinical Social Work/Therapist in Brooklyn
I'm passionate about working with young adults in their 20s and 30s adjusting to life after college, including people who are struggling or experiencing feelings of disconnection or transition in their careers or relationships. One of the reasons people come to therapy is because they're lacking freedom in some way or another in their life, and I feel the goal of therapy is to engage in a conversation that will, over time, help you turn awareness into freedom.
I use a humanistic lens that holistically looks at the human hierarchy of needs and acknowledges that under the right conditions, people will move in the direction of thriving, or self-actualizing. The therapeutic role is one that treats the client as expert of your own experience.
I have experience working with the LGBT community, addictions, young adults, and people feeling "stuck" in their professional life.
