Monika Kushwaha, PsyD, Psychologist in Franklin Park
Thich Nhat Hahn says "there can be no lotus flower without the mud." While I believe that our struggles can give rise to a beautiful life, I know that finding that flower within the mud can be difficult to do alone. If you've been struggling with depression, anxiety, PTSD, or other emotional difficulties, let me help you find your way to a life worth living. I take a mindfulness-based approach in my work and integrate DBT, CBT, and relational strategies based on your individual needs. My goal is to provide a safe environment where you can develop skills that you can use hereafter.
I also specialize in women's and multicultural issues. I can help you through post-partum difficulties, pregnancy loss, and motherhood challenges. I know how much your environment can impact your sense of self. While I'm most familiar with challenges the South Asian community faces, I understand how culture impacts us all.
I work with adults in individual, couples, and group therapy formats. If you are willing to make the effort required to change your life, I would love to work with you. Contact me to see if we'd be a good fit. I look forward to helping you find that lotus amidst the mud.
