Clinical Social Work/Therapist, LCSW
I am a therapist with over 20 years of experience working with children and families. My focus is helping parents and kids thrive. I offer counseling for kids and parents as well as coaching specifically for parents. Parents typically come to me for help with establishing routines, navigating open adoption, talking about adoption, and developing effective discipline techniques. I offer parent coaching sessions in-person or over the phone on a variety of issues in an accepting, nonjudgmental environment. Parents will leave our coaching sessions feeling more confident in their parenting style and with additional practical parenting resources.
Because of my long history working with all members of the adoption community, I've seen individuals and families about talking to children about adoption, transracial adoption issues, preparing for birthland trips, and strengthening family bonds. I'm trained in theraplay, dyadic developmental psychotherapy, and dialectical behavioral therapy.
I work alongside my colleagues at Spence-Chapin's Modern Family Center. We offer a welcoming and affirming environment for everyone. Together, we are committed to serving the needs of all children and families.
