Mike Abrams, PhD, MBA, ABPP, Psychologist in Clifton
A humanistic approach accepting all people without judgments or condescension is essential for psychotherapy. This is my prime theme. I do not judge or rate. There are no good or bad people only good and bad actions. I help people find new ways to approach life with a minimum of fear, conflict, and inner turmoil. I studied Cognitive Behavior Therapy under its developer, Dr. Albert Ellis, with whom I have written three books including co-authoring a definitive textbook on Personality, This work will help other therapists better understand our human condition. My credentials include two board certifications
Over 30 years I have had satisfactory results helping people minimize the conflicts of living. My primary goal is help others find less painful ways to view their life adversities. I sharpen my approach with teaching graduate students and actively conducting research into psychotherapy - having led to 17 publications.
I am on the graduate psychology faculty of New York University. In addition, I recently completed my 4th book, a text on sexuality. To see one of my educational videos go to About.com and search for Dr. Mike Abrams. For more information see psychny.com or psychology.ws.
