I am a Board Certified Psychotherapist with Certification as a Specialist in treating Children, Adolescents and Families. I have a Masters Degrees in Social Work from Adelphi University and a Masters Degree in Speech and Hearing Therapy from NYU I have had many years of experience in dealing with a variety of mental health issues, such as anxiety, oppositional defiance, depression, ADHD, etc. and utilize a variety of treatment approaches to therapy as I do not believe that one modality alone fits all needs.
My approach to therapy is to work as a team, involving the parents, child and myself and coordinating with the school and medical providers as necessary.
I feel it is most important for you and your child to feel good about themselves and your relationship to one another. Families need to be able to develop skills to be able listen, talk and understand each other.
