Kaerensa A. Craft
Clinical Social Work/Therapist, LCSW, CASAC
Are you looking for help to address problem drinking? My training and experience includes approaches to help people moderate their drinking when quitting altogether is not the goal, as well as to help people achieve and maintain abstinence when moderated drinking is unrealistic. If you are unsure about committing to treatment, we can start with a brief treatment of 4-6 sessions to assess your situation, solidify your goals, and discuss helpful strategies. Brief treatment can be an excellent start to making important changes, and can inform whether or not a longer-term treatment will be beneficial.
I have worked in addictions treatment since 2002, in hospital clinics and academic research labs studying psychotherapy interventions for addictions. I have also worked extensively with abstinence-based and moderation-based treatment models, and support clients who are engaged in complementary activities to support their goals (e.g., AA, Smart Recovery, and Moderation Management).
Phone consultations are offered to determine if psychotherapy with me can address your needs. If using insurance is a top priority, your plan needs to include out-of-network benefits to cover my services. Please visit the Payment & Insurance tab on my website for more information.
