I offer a collaborative approach to therapy that emphasizes gaining a better understanding of your own unique emotional experiences, reactions, behaviors and motivations, and exploring how these patterns of responding to your world developed and evolved over time. Together we will sort through what is working and what is not working, replacing unhelpful habits, responses and interpretations with new helpful strategies, and strengthening adaptive skills you may already possess
I am a psychologist trained in cognitive-behavioral and mindfulness-based approaches, and a researcher who uses neuroscience to better understand how the mind works in adaptive ways. I draw from this knowledge to inform my therapy work. I have authored several publications on emotion regulation, anxiety and bipolar disorders.
I specialize in helping people manage mood difficulties, anxiety, trauma, major life changes, and interpersonal or relationship issues. My work focuses on helping you to manage intense or uncomfortable emotional experiences and to learn new ways of being in the world. I look forward to speaking with you.
