I enjoy working with clients who take responsibility for their own behaviors and are willing to look at where they are called to grow. I understand the role of spirituality in counseling and psychology. I also understand the difference between spirituality and religiosity. My wide life experience is my greatest asset to offer to clients. This experience serves the client well as we address the concerns and issues that the client faces.
I begin with a family systems perspective. We are products of the system we come from and it is critical to understand the influences of these systems. From this basis, we can begin to address the client's concerns from an eclectic perspective.
I am clear that the counseling relationship is about helping the client become the woman or man that God is calling them to be. The distance between where we are, and where we need to move to, is the place that I help clients gain perspective and insight.
