Hi, I am an experienced psychotherapist and I have worked with many individuals and families who are in need of help coping with life's stress and how to make good decisions and move forward on a healthy path. I can help you with trauma, family of origin stress, mood disorders, major mental illness, addictions of all types and most adjustment problems; retirement adjustment, adjustment to adulthood, and life stage adjustment. Many of my clients have family members who have mental health and substance abuse difficulties. I will see clients in active addiction only if they willing to make the tough changes needed.
I use a psychoanalytical and insight oriented approach as a basis for treatment in all cases. In many cases I will use a Cognitive and Behavioral approach. The method of practice in a particular case is determined by the unique factors of the person being treated.
Over the years I have developed several areas of expertise. I have worked extensively with family issues, with children individually and their parents. Other specialties include chemical dependency and other addictions, anger management, major mental illness, mood disorders, marital, and DOT evaluations.
