Barbara Mazzarella, LCSW-R, ACSW, Clinical Social Work/Therapist in New York
In a safe, supportive environment we will work together to help you live a happier, healthier and more fulfilling life. While I have extensive experience helping clients with depression, anxiety, trauma & many other painful conditions, I also offer specialized treatment for those seeking healing & recovery from sexual addiction/compulsivity, sexual inhibiton/anorexia, codependency & other problematic behavior patterns involving relationships. My clients describe me as very empathetic & caring but also highly effective at facilitating positive growth & transformation in their lives. I have worked successfully with people from various backgrounds & professions, including performance & creative artists & those in sensitive or high- profile positions.
Drawing upon a solid foundation of postgraduate psychoanalytic education & other clinical training, my therapeutic approach is firstly determined by your own individual needs & specific situation. When appropriate, I combine an interactive, psychodynamic orientation with such diverse methodologies as cognitive-behavioral, EMDR, 12-Step recovery & Inner Child work.
As an adjunct to Individual sessions, or as a separate alternative, therapy Groups are also provided. All professional fees are payable on a per-service basis by either check or cash. Monthly billing receipts provided to clients seeking insurance reimbursement. Flexible, sliding scale fee available if needed.
