I am a NJ Licensed Clinical Social Worker, a NJ Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, a Board Certified Diplomate in Clinical Social Work, and Director of Community Counseling Service of South Jersey LLC. Primarily a psychotherapeutic counselor for the last 25 years, I am also a published author, present personal growth workshops, lecture at conferences, and conduct professional supervision for my colleagues.
The MSW initial next to my name means I have a Masters Degree in Clinical Social Work. The LCSW initial means I have been licensed by the state of New Jersey to practice Clinical Social Work.
The BCD initial means that as a Board Certified Diplomate I hold a Masters Degree in Clinical Social Work plus a minimum of 7,500 hours of post graduate clinical practice plus have had 3000 of these hours supervised and evaluated for counter transference issues.
The approach I like to use in my counseling practice is called integrative psychotherapy. This methodology is important to me because it addresses all aspects of a person developmentally, emotionally, cognitively, behaviorally, and systemically. The mechanics involves combining theories of emotion, cognition, behavior, and systems, while maintaining a developmental perspective.
