Chris Hancock, MSW, LCSW, Clinical Social Work/Therapist in Brentwood
Imagine more calm, clarity, confidence, courage, creativity, compassion, and connectedness. Imagine starting to resolve even long-standing problems in living and loving, making real changes that last. With a little hope, the will to change and the right guide, it's all possible. My approach is professional but laid back, interactive, relational; real. Exceptional training plus nearly 20 years [on both ends of the therapist-client relationship] has prepared me to respond effectively to most any human struggle. I offer a FREE CONSULT to help you decide if I'm the best choice for you.
I work with a variety of people on a wide range of issues. A background in music lends itself to approaching therapy as a co-creative process. I believe walking the talk is essential. No therapist can safely take you where they have not gone themselves.
My practice is mainly adults and older adolescents in individual therapy. My work has broadened to include those in psycho-spiritual crisis or having potentially Spiritually Transformative Experiences (STE's). Chris Hancock's Groups

Support for Extraordinary Experience (NOT a group)

Support for Extraordinary Experience (S.E.E.) is a sub-specialty offering a range of individualized consultation, therapeutic and exploratory services for people trying to discern, cope with, and integrate potentially Spiritually Transformative Experiences (pSTEs). STEs can come in many forms, such as (but not limited to) Near-Death Experience (NDE), Out of Body Experience (OBE), After Death Communications (ADC), Kundalini Arousal, or Spiritual Emergency. Such phenomena are often mislabeled and mistreated as mental illness (psychosis) by the mainstream religious and psychiatric community. If this sounds like something you're experiencing, see my website or contact me for more information.
