Kirsten Chadwick, PhD, Psychologist in Washington
I specialize in working with depression, interpersonal relationships, parenting concerns, the motherhood transition, college transitions, loss and grief. Emotional distress can arise for various reasons; biological events, complicated life transitions, or the use of ineffective tactics for operating in the world. I help clients think through strategies to enable them to better navigate transitions and the difficult circumstances they encounter. I also work with individuals to identify and interrupt patterns that are preventing them from building and maintaining satisfying relationships and experiencing happiness.
During an initial consultation, we will collaborate and explore your concerns and goals and arrive at a plan of action. It is my experience that working hard in therapy, with honesty and openness, can lead to lower stress, better relationships and rewarding changes in your life.
I have over 15 years of clinical experience working with late adolescents and adults and I am an Assistant Professor of Clinical Psychology at George Washington University. My services are reimbursable by most insurance companies. Please feel free to contact me should you have any questions about my practice or to arrange a consultation.
