I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with over 25 years of experience working with children, adolescents, parents, adults and families. I work together with parents and teachers helping children succeed in school. I help parents understand the issues behind their child's anxiety, which may reflect in low academic performance and poor social skills.
I primarily use a psychodynamic approach to help clients express their feelings and deal with their emotions or anxiety in appropriate and mindful ways. I connect with children through games or drawings, to help them express their feelings into words.
I have a post graduate degree in Child Psychodynamic Psychotherapy from the Center of Psychoanalytic Studies, which focuses on child and adolescent psychotherapy. Bilingual in English and Spanish, I have experience in counseling adults and parents in family and cultural issues, that impact their present-day life.
