Kiersten Marek, LICSW, Clinical Social Work/Therapist in Cranston
I am a Certified Financial Social Worker, so learning about and changing your financial behavior, which is often the root of other problems, is a big focus of my work. Both in my office, and through online meetings using phone or video, I work with clients to identify behaviors related to money that are impacting emotional health, and through individual and family meetings, help clients develop healthier behaviors. I also help clients create a Personalized Spending and Savings Plan, and develop better relationships with others through proactive communication and money management.
For children, I have a playroom and use art, feelings flashcards, and play to work on treatment goals. My office environment provides a safe and discreet environment for individuals and families. I also provide online services for non-acute situations.
I am also a writer about social and economic philanthropy, which means I follow closely all grantmaking and funding for a wide variety of issues including adoption, early childhood education, foster care, reproductive health, workforce development, housing, and issues related to marginalized populations including minorities and low-income populations.
