For over 30 years, I have treated adults, children and families confronting a broad range of concerns, with a focus on the challenges facing the family. My approach varies according to individual circumstances -- my goal is helping people resolve issues and move on, returning later if the need arises. My work includes helping families under stress to strengthen their connections, and to preserve and enrich their lives together. If divorce is inevitable or has already occurred, my work can help establish new functional family units. I conduct divorce mediation, as well as mediation for family and work place conflict.
I am very much client centered and respectful of individual choices regarding such things as a primary focus on symptoms, or a more in-depth focus on underlying issues. Questions of proceeding with individual work, or involving family or friends are also ultimately a matter of client choice.
I combine an expertise in children and families with a good working knowledge of the legal system. Thus, I am often engaged to help in high conflict divorce situations, either as a mediator, parenting coordinator, parent counselor, custody evaluator, or expert witness.
