Greg Garavanian, PsyD, Psychologist in San Francisco
I believe that every person has a core/essential self who sometimes gets sidelined in the face of a situational stressor or repeated bad experiences. My first priority is to alleviate your current symptoms and help you have a greater sense of control. From there, the work may shift to addressing long-term patterns or challenges. My approach involves seeing you as a unique individual and understanding that you have the ability to heal yourself. I can help facilitate this healing through a trusting relationship and various techniques I have learned and practiced.
While there can be tremendous benefit from talking about your problems, sometimes other approaches can be equally or more helpful. This is particularly true for people who have been through therapy and are able to articulate their challenges well, but continue to feel stuck in the same reactions or behaviors.
I am trained in several modalities in addition to the standard training in talk therapy. This will give us more options to address your challenges and help to alleviate your suffering.
