Deborah Emery-Gigliotti, MS, LCMHC, Counselor in Rochester
I carefully treat the obstacles that can get in the way of your healthy lifestyle. That might be feelings of despair due to a life situation or feelngs of being overwhelmed due to depression or anxiety. Maybe your life has taken a turn that you are not comfortable with and you need some guidance to assist you in "getting back on track". My goal is to achieve a partnership with the client that will result in a development of client self awareness and self actualization -- to become more mindful of yourself and your environment.
I work primarily with Transgender Transitioning/Issues, GLBTQQ, PTSD (Complex and Combat), Trauma, Domestic Violence, Anger Management, Depression, Anxiety, and Addiction. I enjoy combining the art of mindfulness, which is the experience of staying aware, with the art of therapy. This helps the client become more peaceful, calm, and to live a more tranquil life.
I have had significant training in the areas of trauma (PTSD), transgenderism, domestic violence, and anger management.

Anger Management Group

This is an educational group for anyone who has anger management issues. Clients are usually mandated by the courts to participate in a psycho-educational program around anger management issues. However, this group can be attended by anyone who has an interest in learning more about their anger. Male and Female groups are available and will be conducted seperately.

More about this group

DBT

DBT is a pyschosocial skills training that assists those that have a difficult time reacting in a healthy manner to emotional stimulation and teaches the client how to self regulate their moods. This client's level of arousal goes up much more quickly, peaks at a higher level, and takes more time to return to a normal range. Some of these individuals might have crisis-strewn lives and extreme emotional shifts. This group does not require that you have any specific diagnosis to attend.
