I am a Clinical Psychologist with over 20 years experience in a private practice setting. I am a faculty member of Northwestern University's Feinberg School of Medicine. I graduated from Harvard University in Psychology and Social Relations, and received an Ed.M. degree from the Harvard Gradate School of Education and a Ph.D. degree from Northwestern University. My personal style is compassionate, open and actively involved. I create a space in which I come to know and support an individual or a couple as we face life's challenges together with dignity and hope.
I help people diminish the symptoms and conflicts they experience by exploring the coping strategies that produce them. We all do our best to cope, grasping for familiar strategies and trying to develop more constructive ones. I assist people in recognizing patterns and identifying the understandable reasons why they developed.
Once we appreciate why we function as we do, we can begin to change these patterns and develop new ones. I strive to develop a partnership in which we can observe and understand together, each contributing our unique insights, empowering people to make the changes they seek.
