Welcome! As you seek therapy for the first time or are returning to it, my goal is to make it a positive and comfortable experience. What can you expect in a session? A conversational approach – with you doing most of the talking – while I reflect, validate, and ask you questions that elicit deeper understanding, authenticity, and feelings of hope.
You will experience “unconditional positive regard” – a form of acceptance – as you work on making changes in your life. The therapeutic tools we'll use are based on the techniques and philosophies of DBT and CBT.
The most common issues I work with, and with which I’ve had the most success in my 17 years as a counselor, are depression, anxiety, anger, borderline personality disorder, suicidality, self-harm, and gender and sexual identity.
