Catherine Ness, MA, LCPC, Counselor in Arlington Heights
I believe that every person has the right and ability to be happy in life, but that most people face obstacles at some point that makes happiness elusive. I have learned that no one better understands these obstacles and distressing emotions than those who are experiencing them. I, therefore, utilize a client-centered approach in therapy wherein I join the client in order to better appreciate his/her perspective and emotional state. I dedicate myself to my clients and helping them better define where they are in life and where they would like to go in the future.
I specialize in working with individuals experiencing depression, anxiety, trauma, addiction, self-esteem issues and relationship difficulties. My experiences include working with adolescents, adults, groups, families and couples. For all persons and in all situations, I instill hope and help identify and build on existing strengths.
The decision to enter into counseling can seem overwhelming, but it starts with a simple conversation about what is on your mind. I create an environment where you will feel at ease and understood. The result is learning to trust in yourself and feeling confident in personal decisions.
