John Clark Echols Jr, MDiv, LPCC, Counselor in Cincinnati
My professional experience with grief and anger, and my experience of healing from childhood wounds and significant loss, impacts my work by encouraging a heart and mind open to the goodness of the human soul, the possibility of healing of mental disease, and an acceptance of every faith tradition. I am ready to work with individuals and couples using mindfulness, a variety of individualized cognitive therapies, and spiritual development based on my professional training and life experience. I especially wants to be of service to men with anger, addiction, depression, grief, and PTSD issues. I am working towards certification in Emotionally Focused Therapy for couples
I listen for the client's cognitive style, thought and emotional processing, and the client's experience of their current circumstance. I then help the client discover what is for them the most helpful form of mindfulness. We then work together to implement a mindfulness practice that works for us.
I strive to be a compassionate listener, and able to support the client in becoming more accepting of their current circumstance, and so empowered to make the changes they feel will bring them the greatest joy in their lives.
