Claudia Pina, LCSW, LADC, Clinical Social Work/Therapist in West Hartford
Most people have been taught to seek gratification from things "outside" of themselves. Making the decision to seek therapy to look "inward" takes courage. I enjoy working with anyone who has the desire to take this journey. Whether you are seeking help with a relationship, alcohol or drugs, trauma, perfectionism, loneliness...there is hope. I provide a supportive and nonjudgmental atmosphere where individuals can learn to support their emotions and build the skills to live a satisfying life. My approach to therapy is holistic and practical. I incorporate different therapeutic modalities such as art therapy, guided imagery, meditation, and body centered interventions to my work.
I provide psychotherapy and group therapy services to adults, couples and older adolescents seeking treatment for a range of concerns. I have worked extensively in community mental health clinics, inpatient substance abuse units and private practice. I specialize in treating individuals who have experienced trauma and struggling with addiction.
I also conduct DUI substance abuse evaluations. There are a variety of reasons to seek an evaluation after a DUI, drug possession charge, divorce or child custody hearing. In addition to assisting in a legal defense, an evaluation can demonstrate an understanding regarding the seriousness of the situation and an effort to take responsibility.
