Some common issues I have assisted clients with include life transitions, anxiety, depression, anger management, codependency, attention deficit/concentration issues, academic/school problems, parenting skills and trauma history issues.
Most people who visit a therapist know that there is something they want to change, but they may not know how. Sometimes feelings of anxiety or depression, problems with relationships, challenges at work, or other social difficulties are difficult to understand and resolve without help. In therapy, my goal is to help you foster greater self-understanding and develop strategies to live a more fulfilling life.

At my practice, you will be treated individually, as a person(s) and not as a dollar sign or your illness. I enjoy treating patients of all ages. We live in a complex world. Many of us can feel overwhelmed by the layers of stressors and demands upon us. While I do not possess the answers, I have strength in asking appropriate, pertinent questions, as well as opening the exploration of aspects of oneself that may be hidden from view. I work hard and ask the client to do the same. Through relationship we build safety and respect. This permits the bravery it takes to enter into the psychotherapeutic process. Ultimately, it is here that change can occur.

Hello! If you are reading this and looking for help you are right where you need to be :) I like to think of myself as an "UNshrink" . I believe in helping to de-pathologize you and whatever it is that you are struggling w, and helping you to experience your self, situation, and LIFE in a whole new way. I'm usually a good fit for ppl that aren't into traditional "therapy" for whatever reason: anxiety, skepticism, bad or unsuccessful past experiences, if you think you, your family, everything is/are beyond hope, or if you are interested in something completely "outside the box", bc that is me.

I help empower people around life problems such as anxiety, anger, grief and parenting issues.
I believe in the uniqueness of each human being and that all people have inherent strengths. I know when a person seeks counseling it is because he/she is feeling overwhelmed or stuck. In the safety of a professional helping relationship you will address those areas as well as recognize and utilize your own strengths so you can move forward to resolve your problems. I work with people on a variety of difficult life issues and I meet each person where they are at. In addition to helping individual adults, I work with parents, families and children ages 7-18.

Anger Management Therapists
How long does therapy take for anger management?
Treatment duration depends on the person’s specific challenges and circumstances. There are treatments for anger problems that are shorter and more goal-oriented, like Cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), which can last weeks to months. Others, like Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) may last between six months and a year, while a more intensive treatment, like psychodynamic therapy, is open-ended, and clients may see their therapist for a year or longer.
How do you know if you need therapy for anger management?
Everyone gets mad from time to time. But when angry outbursts become frequent and cause damage to relationships, whether at home or in the office, it may be a good time to look into therapy. A therapist can assess where a client’s anger may be coming from, suggest strategies for averting angry outbursts, and help a client create a plan to become a calmer version of themselves.
Is there medication for anger management?
Medications do exist that help people mitigate the feeling of anger, but these are reserved for people with anger-related psychiatric disorders, such as intermittent explosive disorder, oppositional defiant disorder, or in some cases borderline personality disorder. In these cases, antidepressant medications may be prescribed to help with the client’s symptoms. In most cases of anger management, however, talk therapy is the recommended treatment, along with lifestyle changes where relevant.
What’s the best way to encourage someone to seek help for anger issues?
It’s helpful to express your concern and love for the person while framing therapy as a tool for improving their life. Offering specific examples of how an individual’s behavior affected either themselves or others should be done with compassion and with empathy. It may be useful to devise a game plan—breaking the process down into parts, such as finding a therapist, making appointments, and looking into insurance coverage.
