Katy (she/her) is a pre-licensed clinician with experience working with individuals in different stages of life with a wide variety of clinical concerns. She uses a person-centered approach to her work, combining holistic and mindfulness-based techniques.

For over twenty-five years, I have done therapy with individuals experiencing life stress and/or chemical imbalances. I have successfully treated clients who are experiencing depression, anxiety and panic attacks. For the past five years, I have concentrated primarily on clients who have experienced emotional abuse from having been involved with a person who has Narcissistic Personality Disorder. Such relationships leave others feeling as thought the life has been sucked out of them. I have helped many clients go from feeling weak and depleted to strong and self confident; they regain self esteem and peace of mind.

Confronting what life throws at us can feel overwhelming and I am committed to supporting you without judgement. I received my master’s degree with academic distinction in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Northwestern University in 2023. Before pursuing my mental health passion, I was a professional violinist, and I have a deep understanding of the challenges that come with the pursuit of an intensive career, as well as an appreciation for the amount of pressure and anxiety job performance can create. Working through tendencies like overthinking or perfectionism can both enhance your performance and overall quality of life.

My mission is for each client to find their true self and voice and see that so many of our negative storylines and scripts are just programming we have picked up throughout our lives. My heart is to follow each client's lead on where he or she needs to go versus my own agenda and / or preferences. I believe that it is in allowing space for our experiences of our full humanity that we realize that at our most fundamental level our essence is actually good and true.

I'm in the process of getting my mental health prescriptive privileges as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with 2 semesters left, as I am already a Licensed Professional Counselor-Mental Health Service Provider and a Family Nurse Practitioner. It just made sense to do the 4 semester connector.
