Building awareness of these patterns is crucial because you can't change what you can't see! From there, we would utilize evidence-based treatments (exposure/ERP, CBT, DBT, ACT) to address your unique needs and provide you with tangible skills to reduce anxiety and move towards a valued life.
Are you ready to overcome your fears and reclaim your life from anxiety and perfectionism? I know this idea can be both exciting and scary, and I'm proud of you for taking this first step! I specialize in helping clients overcome OCD, perfectionism and anxiety disorders (including phobias, social anxiety, health anxiety, panic and worry/generalized anxiety). My approach to therapy is compassionate and nonjudgmental while also being encouraging and change-oriented. In our work together, we'd build awareness of unhelpful thoughts, beliefs and behaviors that fuel anxiety and keep you stuck.

I use multiple methods to approach my clients in the most beneficial and personal way, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Gestalt Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Narrative Therapy.
Are you seeking a safe space to ask for and receive help? Do you feel as though you are stuck in a deep valley and cannot find your way out? I am passionate about people and their stories, where mental health and Christianity intersect, and how God is calling us toward redemption. We all encounter circumstances that require introspection, and I delight in walking through the valley with my clients, leading them toward the light.

In turn my primary theoretical concepts that I utilize in helping clients are CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy) and DBT ( Dialectical Behavior Therapy).
My ideal client is one that is able to do three things. First, my ideal client should be one that is can acknowledge that he/she has an issue/issues that is/are getting in the way of allowing him/her to live a healthy lifestyle. Second, my ideal client is one that is able to take that first step to bringing themselves into therapy. If they have support, that would be even better for that will hopefully increase the chances of long term success. Finally, my ideal client will be one that is not just coming into sessions when they are required, but that they are doing the work outside sessions that is needed to have success.

All the therapeutic modalities I work in are trauma-informed, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Traumatic Incident Reduction (TIR), CBT, and DBT.
Hi and welcome. I believe that therapy should be a collaborative partnership between you and your therapist. As a Certified Clinical Trauma Specialist trained in EMDR, understanding trauma and its effect on a person's day to day functioning is a powerful tool to help those who are struggling. It is okay to ask for help - we all need it at some point. Please reach out and give me a call. We can chat to learn if I would be the best fit.

These interventions, along with IFS and DBT skills, make up the backbone of how I do evidence-based psychotherapy.
Hi there! I'm Sarah, and I work with individuals (teens & adults) struggling with grief, anxiety, and trauma. A specific area of interest for me has been working with those who have tried therapy in the past, but for whatever reason had difficulty showing up fully in the counseling space. My aim is to change that narrative with relational psychotherapy, somatic processing, & EMDRIA approved EMDR. I have clinical experience working in areas such as depression, shame, self-harm, suicidal ideation, body-image issues, eating disorders, life transitions, faith-based issues, relational challenges, discrimination, & self-esteem.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT) Therapists

Who is DBT for?

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is designed for people who experience extreme emotional suffering because they lack the skills of emotion regulation and distress tolerance. The basic affliction can underlie a wide range of conditions, from borderline and other personality disorders to PTSD and treatment-resistant anxiety and depression. The therapy is helpful to those whose emotional reactivity is so intense it is disruptive to everyday functioning and leads to frequent crises.

Why do people need DBT?

The ability to regulate emotions is a core psychological skill that enables people to function in life and pay attention to the world outside themselves; it is consistently associated with well-being. DBT is designed to help people learn how to manage and regulate their emotions. Originally developed to treat people with borderline personality disorder whose extreme emotional suffering led to self-harming behavior and suicide attempts, the therapy is now applied to other conditions involving emotion dysregulation, particularly when other treatments have failed.

What happens in DBT?

Individuals meet weekly with their therapist to discuss their experiences relating to moods, behavior, and skills. Using checklists they maintain, they review emotional experiences and positive practices they engage in. The diaries help individuals discern what led up to a specific problem encountered, this is followed by discussion of the consequences of their actions. In addition, individuals may meet in class-like small groups to learn skills such as mindfulness, emotion regulation and distress tolerance.

How long does DBT last?

Because it is intended to establish long-lasting behavioral change among those with persistent problems, DBT is designed to last six months to a year. DBT includes both weekly sessions of individual therapy and weekly skills-training sessions conducted in small groups. Studies of DBT have documented improvement within a year of treatment, particularly in controlling self-harmful behavior; nevertheless, individuals may require therapy for several years.
