Mr. Jones has been the Behavioral Health Services Coordinator and Behavioral Health Consultant (BHC) for the State of Delaware, Recovery Services Administrator I of Recovery Innovations’ Recovery Resource Center and Program Coordinator for First State Community Action Agency’s A Second Chance: Prison Re-entry Program.

Hello! I am Jessie Howard and I am a licensed professional counselor serving children, adolescents, and adults in and around Southern Delaware. Over my years as a therapist, I have worked with children, adolescents and adults who have struggled with living and coping with many different mental health disorders and life experiences, some of which include anxiety, PTSD, self esteem issues, patterns of self-harm, adoption, divorce, anger management issues, various traumatic experiences, and peer, family, and relationship conflicts. Some days, I am also joined in office by my English Mastiff, Sully!

I founded Compass Mental Wellness Services to bring a new level of mental health care to Sussex county, understanding that psychotherapy has approximately 60% positive outcomes overall. When you add any complexity to an individual case, the likely hood of positive outcomes decreases even further. I have strived to build a model of psychotherapy that can be used with any therapeutic technique but uses neuropsychological principles to enhance treatment by working with the brain instead of against it. I also utilizes cutting-edge neurophysiological treatment techniques to enhance treatment and enhance positive outcomes.

First and foremost, I believe counseling works. I became a counselor because I think people have so much potential that is often locked inside due to varying limitations.
